Surgery

Less than one-week old and little Jake Laterveer is having surgery this morning to address the coarctation of his aorta and the three other heart defects he was born with. The surgery is taking place at Egleston at 11AM and should last for 8 hours.

His mom Tammy is my best friend (I was her maid of honor and she will be mine when the time comes) and this process has been incredible to watch Jesus shine through them. Their care page has all the info, and one particular entry is from her husband, BJ, who wrote of what a blessing the fact that little Jacob has heart problems. Please pray for the doctors, the outcome of this surgery and for the strengthening of their little family and their marriage. Their son Sam is 1.5 yrs old and is definitely a bright spot.
