Happy Driving!

Eight things that occurred to me today while on the shoulder of Pleasant Hill...

1. Being female, blonde, 26 and not wearing a wedding ring seems to not have any influence on policemen that have pulled you over. They will still give you a ticket. There goes that myth.

2. Crying does not soften motorcycle cops hearts...in fact, it seems to make them meaner.

3. Handing a police officer your American Express card when he asks for your license is not a good idea.

4. The fact that I am so used to pulling out my AMEX that it has become an automatic reflex is a bad sign.

5. Having a policeman ask if you have been drinking at 9:30 in the morning because you handed him your credit card and can't seem to form coherent sentences is disturbing.

6. Having to tell said policeman that the strong smell that is emanating from your car is not liquor, it's only your Dunkin Donuts coffee breath, well, that just adds insult to injury.

7. Evidently I am blind to signs that say that no left turn is allowed. Especially ones that are not at an intersection and exist at gas stations exits.

8. It is only money. And it's a darn good thing that I just renewed my car insurance for another 6 months before this happened.

Only you, my friend, can blog about something like this with such grace and sweetness! I love it!

I think it shows remarkable intelligence (and sense of humor) when one has the ability to remain so objective through an obviously difficult morning. Cheers! (with coffee, of course).
