The Wedding Disconnect: Colors

It is very easy to get swept up in the hubbub of wedding planning. I try to avoid that, and having to focus on a job search in DC, moving up there, finding an apartment, etc. keeps my eye trained on the fast approaching future with Hunt.

But even so, I find myself sounding like Shelby from "Steel Magnolias" at times, especially when people ask me things that seem so old-fashioned like, "what are your colors?" And while I'm not responding with "Blush and Bashful!" it still feels very much like that kind of moment. (if you don't know what I'm talking about, watch the below video at around 1:10 in...)

I still feel very girly informing whoever is asking that our "colors" are eggplant and champagne. Hunt is gloriously unconcerned about this and has let me pick whatever it is I want. He has even helped me understand that when it comes to guys there is something I need to know about that specific subject. He provided a visual below. Click here for a more in-depth explanation.

So evidently, according to this, our "colors" are purple and nothing. Ah, the wonderful simplicity of men.

Ha! That color chart will come in handy when you go to paint rooms in your house together too. I had five very different shades picked out for our living room, and Andrew thought they were all "blue". Oh, to be a man.

Ha! I wish I could keep it as simple as "purple" or "blue!" But no, it's "aubergine," "plum," "eggplant," and the whole gamut in between! Crazy world of girls and weddings...
