BUT, if you do care, and want to help support McCain, I will be going to the Republican Headquarters tomorrow and picking up yard signs and bumper stickers. If you want any (and I'm happy to send them to you) let me know.
Why the sudden activism?
- Maybe it's the numerous Obama signs in my neighborhood.
- or the fact that I am terrified Obama will get elected.
- or that I'm not a rabid fan of McCain, but I know that he is a FAR BETTER choice than Obama any day.
- or that I don't believe in income re-distribution or a socialistic society.
- or that I shudder when I think about government-run health care.
- or that Obama criticizes the U.S. for not keeping corporations here to do business, yet plans to raise the corporate tax rates, giving them one more reason to go international.
- or that he thinks raising the capital gains tax is a good idea, rather than realizing it would further cripple our stock market.
- or thinks that giving "tax credits" in the form of a check to those who haven't paid a single cent in taxes all year is anything but WELFARE.
- or because he claims he will cut taxes for those at the bottom, but since the bottom 50% of income earners only pay 2.9% of all income taxes, I wonder how much less they can pay?
- or that the top 1% in income earners earned 22% of all income, yet paid 40% of all income taxes. Almost double their share. How much more can they pay?
- or the fact that Obama was the only senator to speak from the floor AGAINST the "Born-Alive Infants Protection Act"
- or that the leader who has veto power and will be naming Supreme Court Justices would think it's "above his pay-grade" to say when he thinks life really begins.
Watch the Saddleback interviews and notice that Obama wants to have it both ways on many issues. I'm not one of those people that think it would be fun to see what he actually does if he got into office.
I, like many others, think it's a joke to think that increasing taxes would stimulate the economy. History shows that just doesn't work. Here is a link to the original Wall Street Journal article where the data is coming from.
What a mess.

I'm right there with you sister!!!! Send those bumper stickers my way!!!!! I'll proudly put one on our cars!!!! Love you and miss you!!! BTW - got the newspaper... tell Hunt thank you for thinking of us. That was so sweet!!!!
Everybody knows Jesus would've voted Republican. Who can forget his sermons on capital gains, the earned income tax credit or other matters of fiscal policy? And everyone knows he was opposed to soaking the rich. Thank you, Ann Coulter!
It's a shame that you would only say that anonymously. Doesn't take much courage to have a dissenting point of view when you can hide behind that nameless identity.
And it's interesting to me that I chose to talk about actual issues and my position on them. Which you did not. Not a very convincing argument my anonymous commenter.
